prism eye

Randy and I were hanging out and shot these photos for fun in my neighborhood. I had these huge fake diamond paperweights that we used as prisms to create cool kaleidoscope effects. That was a fun day.

In other news, I have long hair again! Not in this post, but in real life. I change my hair color/style so often that my blog posts have a hell of a time trying to keep up. It is now neither this color nor this length. And I'm changing the color again tomorrow haha dear god. As you know, my hair was cut short not by choice but by necessity. A new stylist I tried out melted my hair off from a horrendously botched bleach accident and I actually thought I was going to be bald for a minute. I'm sure you can imagine how nauseatingly terrifying that was. Luckily, my hair was (barely) able to be saved with a good haircut and an actual combover hiding all the broken-to-the-root bits in the back, but it was a severe blow to my self-confidence nonetheless. My beautiful pastel hair had been down to my butt and now I was scrounging for strands. It has been a trying five months attempting to feel comfortable in my skin (or rather, hair), but sometimes you just can't force something that isn't your thang. My hair is finally long and strong enough to support extensions, so when the opportunity arose this Sunday, I took it! I couldn't be more ecstatic about it. I feel like I have a new lease on life and that I can conquer anything, dude.

The hairstylist for my Facade Magazine cover editorial shoot gave me sew-in extensions for the shoot so it was basically a free extension session for me, haha. Here are some iPhone previews:

They were relatively hastily done since they were for a shoot and we had limited time, so I only expect them to last a week. I'm going to try tape-in extensions next. I'll let you guys know how those go!

  5. Oh wow how scary. Hopefully your hair can grow out healthy again. Having a good amount of protein can help promote its growth.
