Many beauty brands claim innovation, be it in results, sustainability, price point, etc. but few truly impress. New skincare brand The Ordinary by Deciem, however, has taken the beauty world by storm.

Maybe due to environmental factors, maybe due to stress, and maybe due to personal chemical imbalances, but growing up, I always had terrible skin. Acne-scarring, hyperpigmentation, textured skin, big pores, sometimes even keloid scars--you name it, I had it.

I was really sick over the weekend (which sucked) but that meant I had the chance to shoot a major beauty product review of the products I've been using the last month (which ruled)! Milk Makeup matcha cleanser , toner , and cooling water Okay, y'all. This is kind of a game changer. Milk Makeup has a new solid cleanser, toner, and cooling water. This makes it completely TSA-friendly and ready to be thrown into your carry-on for any getaway! Matcha is really soothing and detoxifying for the skin, so that's less worry about travel-irritated skin. Plus this is the first solid toner in the world . That's pretty bananas. Complete Frudia line, available here I need to reintroduce you to Frudia. I've been a fan of them since their launch event I went to, and being the skincare addict I am, I tried all of their systems. They've got something for everyone: Blueberry for hydration, Citrus for brightening, Green Grape for pore control, and Pom...

This fragrance just screams me. Topped with Italian plum, saffron, and iris, it's delicately fruity and floral...at first whiff. Then you realize the scent opens up into a sultry heart of rose, jasmine, and orris root. But my favorite part about this is the strong base of liquid amber, papyrus woods, and vetiver (god, do I adore vetiver!). The packaging? A new twist on stashing your signature scent in your purse. Marc Jacobs Fragrances takes it to the next (very meta) level by making its already stylish, coveted bottle concepts into a statement to be displayed proudly any which way you like. The concept? A scent for the ages. "Daisy" showed us the sweet girl next door. "Lola" showed us the quirky, cool chick. "Decadence" is all grown up and here to stay, a real-life sophisticate. Emulating opulence, glamour, and fashion, Decadence is a signature scent you won't be able to quit. I haven't been this excited about a scen...

The newest addition to my rapidly-growing fragrance collection is Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb. Flowerbomb has been around since 2005 and is a cult classic--florals are truly timeless. You'll find a floral heart made up of rose, jasmine, freesia, and orchid, surrounded by milky and powdery notes, with an overall foundation of musk and patchouli (I'm swooning). This floral explosion is manifested in the crystalline bottle--intense and sophisticated, just like the diamond-like grenade form. A week ago today, I had the honor of attending the Flowerbomb party in NYC. The Flowerbomb party was just as bomb as expected. A DJ, braid bar, and champagne + rosé bar kept the good vibes flowing. I grabbed myself a drink and sat down at the braid bar. You know how I love me a good braid. Seeing elements of my favorite products and brands personified through cool events like this is one of the most fun parts about my job. I had such a gre...

Y'all are about to learn something about me that I have never publicized on a platform before. I'm a blogger, yes, but ever wonder what I'd be doing if I weren't one? My secondary dream job is to be a sex and relationship therapist (and there's time yet for me to go back to school for that while blogging simultaneously!). It was such an honor for me to attend the Sexual Health Expo (SHE) for work, get to chat with Dr. Chris Donaghue (pictured, you may know him from Love Line), and see my favorite sex educator and activist Tristan Taormino speak. I seriously had a moment. I was in awe of how far this blogging journey has taken me--my worlds and passions collided during SHE. You know me for speaking on risqué topics a lot of my peers don't normally touch upon (especially if you follow my Twitter ): rape culture, politics, sex positivity, trans visibility, I can keep going with this. Sexual health and sex positivity are big p...

What's your dirty little secret? Mine is that I'm embarrassingly lazy with my skincare--give me the simplest regimen possible. I'm actually really low maintenance, almost to a fault. I'm a busy person with little time and patience for complicated skin products, but alas, I have problematic combination skin. What's a sometimes-oily, sometimes-dry, acne-prone girl to do? Introducing Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser + Cleansing Scrub . These bad boys tackle all my issues, down to my pores. I've been anything but silent about my skin issues--I grew up with bad acne, and while it's gone away in my adulthood, I still get random zits and have transitioned from very oily skin to confusing combination skin. Bioré 's Baking Soda Pore Cleanser is gentle enough for everyday use, deep-cleaning without overdrying (when your skin is dry, it overcompensates by producing even more sebum, meaning you'll have an even oilier fac...
