teva x bonnaroo

Few things make me happier than the combination of beautiful nature, beautiful fashion, and damn beautiful music. So when Teva asked me to mosey on over to lush Tennessee to cavort with them at Bonnaroo on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, the obvious answer was a resounding hell yes.

Never one to shy away from travel and adventure, I packed my bags mere days after Palm Springs (which was mere days after London, which was mere days after New York...) and jetted off to a beautiful lakeside house. I'm no freshman to music festivals, but I've never experienced one that was four days long...and let me tell you, it kicked my ass! But Bonnaroo was a life-changing experience and reminded me what festivals were meant to be like--friendly, loving, and all about good vibes. Bonnaroo is less glitzy than what we're used to over on the west coast but it definitely has its advantages. It was so real. We got down. We got dirty (literally; we're talking caked mud). My Tevas got me through 9 hours of dancing a day and withstood the dirt, rocks, rain; whatever rural Tennessee could throw at me.

As if that weren't crazy enough, the LA kids' (myself included) flight back got delayed 5 times and then cancelled altogether, leaving us stranded in Nashville for another day. We decided to make the most of it and our to-do list for the night consisted of checking into a nice hotel, eating a 5-star dinner, and getting tattooed on a whim. Straight treating ourselves. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong. I was so excited to get tattooed but when flipping through the owner's portfolio while awaiting my turn, I saw horrifying misogynist and homophobic tattoos. So much nope. I ghosted out of there fast. And then when one of our wallets fell out in the Uber, the driver held it hostage for two hours until we paid his ever-increasing ransom (don't worry, we're reporting him). Luckily, we're gals of high spirits and positive 'tudes so we took this as a funny story to look back on, knocked back a couple drinks at a country dive bar, and made friends with fellow Bonnaroovians.

Aaaaaanyway. I'm writing this to you about to head to a delicious Southern breakfast before catching my new, improved, Business Class (*slips cool-girl sunglasses on*) flight headed back home to LA. And I begin moving into my new loft in DTLA immediately. Ah! Adventure after adventure after adventure. Looking forward to my next update to you guys--who knows where life will take me next? xx

BREATHTAKING, omg that looks like the perfect getaway. I want to go there with my boyfriend, turn off all electronics and live like nomads for a week.
