vacation staycation

A recap of the best kickoff to my Asia tour: The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.

I spent the better part of my day meandering around the hotel and getting to know it better, from the Grand Hotel Lounge, to the pool, to the gym.

AQ/AQ top. AQ/AQ shorts. AQ/AQ choker. AQ/AQ belt.

One of my favorite features of the hotel was the abundance of beautiful black marble. Outfit shots were a necessity.
[Side note--tried something new with my makeup! I used Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in Metallic White + lashes + thicker brows using Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow in Ash.]

Then, we hit one of my favorite restaurant experiences to date: lunch at Kaetsu.

Did you know that "kaetsu" is a Japanese term for the sound a deer makes? How elegant.

I started off with scallop sashimi...

...had my main course of miso black cod...

...and ended with green tea ice cream.

As you probably have noticed from my Instagram, Japanese food is my favorite. Kaetsu did not disappoint, neither in taste nor in presentation. I was absolutely stuffed from this meal. I actually had to take off my AQ/AQ belt mid-meal.

As if a seam-splitting lunch wasn't enough, we got hungry again and sampled the Grand Hyatt HK's steakhouse. The reason it's so dark and beautiful is that it used to be a nightclub!

Here are the delectable plates we tried:

Seared Maryland Crab Cakes

Pan Fried Diver Scallops

Pan Fried Foie Gras

I was especially stoked on the foie gras, as it's illegal back home in California. After dinner, Natalie and I signed a 25th anniversary card for the hotel...

...then we took a photo with our card for the hotel...

With Eva Kwok, Public Relations Manager, and James Sanberg, Assistant Manager of the Steakhouse

...then the staff surprised us with a photo of us taking a photo with our card (how sweet!).

So here is a photo of us holding a photo of us holding our card.

Our stay was concluded the next morning with a relaxing massage at Plateau, the hotel's spa, followed by a dip in the pool.

Weekend seafood brunch buffet

The Grand Hyatt Hotel is a solid 5 star resort. Staff you've never met know you by name and make an effort to converse with you. Some even used their own phones and extra effort to get us out of a pinch. The work environment and community was so idyllic I never wanted to leave. Definitely looking forward to future stays there.

What I'm wearing:
AQ/AQ top. AQ/AQ shorts. AQ/AQ choker. AQ/AQ belt.

Special thanks to the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
